Canterbury pub to consider using foreign decoders

This week European Courts overturned a conviction on a Portsmouth Landlady who used a foreign decoder to stream live Premier League football.

The victory is seen as good news for hard-up pubs who can no longer afford to pay out for Sky Sports.

Alex Webb, manager of the Maidens Head in Canterbury says he will now consider using foreign streams and feels that Sky hold an 'unfair monopoly over football coverage'.

The Maidens Head could be just one of many pubs that choose to use foreign decoders as a way round sky bills.

The verdict in the landmark case involving Karen Murphy (pictured below) means that more televised football can be brought to the public.
